Dundalk salvaged a point at Oriel Park last night despite being reduced to 10 men for most of the second half in a poor game.

A draw, however, was not much use to either club in their battle to avoid relegation and it will take something of a minor miracle for them to survive with games running out.
In a scrappy first half neither side created many scoring chances but what were fell to Dundalk and it took a good save from Galway goalkeeper Robert Forde to stop a shot from James Keddy in the 32nd minute.
Galway improved their game at the start of the second half and at this stage Dundalk had Aaron Callaghan sent off for his second bookable offence in the 55th minute.
Galway went ahead some eight minutes later when Colin Fortune gathered a poor clearance by Dundalk goalkeeper John Connolly and scored without being challenged.Dundalk levelled with 15 minutes to go through Gary Haylock and finished the stronger. Forde denied Keddy the winner two minutes from the end.
