AIRTRICITY LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION Dundalk 6 Galway Utd 1:GREG BOLGER helped himself to a brace as Dundalk cruised to victory over a beleaguered Galway United at Oriel Park last night.

Played in horrendous conditions, the home side started brightly and Mark Quigley tested Greg Fleming twice early on. The visitors almost took a shock lead in the 17th minute when Bobby Ryan forced Peter Cherrie into a top class save.

But Dundalk were in front three minutes later. Ross Gaynor’s cut back to the edge of the box found Quigley and Bolger latched on to the lay-off, beating Fleming with the aid of a wicked deflection from 20-yards.

Bolger’s second arrived in the 44th minute when he lifted the ball over Fleming following a neat exchange with Quigley. And seconds later the result was put beyond doubt when Quigley drilled home from 12-yards.
