Dungannon's emphatic victory over Harlequins at Pirrie Park on Saturday has set up a fascinating clash with their great rivals, Ballymena, at Stevenson Park tomorrow night when both teams will be bidding to capture play-off slots.

Jan Cunningham went in for the home side's first try after 10 minutes with David Humphreys converting and adding a penalty.

Andrew Hughes charged through for Dungannon's second try before Harlequins finally burst into life and had a penalty from Paul Hancock. But Dungannon asserted their superiority before the break when, after Jonathan Bell had swept over a 38th minute dropped goal, Hughes finished off a counter attack for his second try. With a 22-3 interval lead, Dungannon were very much in the driving seat but when Niall Malone switched to outhalf in the second period, Harlequins looked more threatening. A sustained bout of pressure yielded three penalty goals by Malone.

Dungannon recovered their composure and after Humphreys thumped over his second penalty, Tyrone Howe sprinted in for a try, with Humphreys converting.

It was after good work by Bell and Hughes that Howe forced his way in for his second try. Humphreys added a further penalty before Harlequins gained a semblance of consolation with a try from Gerard Malone which Malone converted.

Ryan Constable scored the home team's final try although Malone managed to touch down for Harlequins and add the conversion with the last kick.
