Only in the closing quarter-hour did fancied Dunloy shake off the shackles of Cushendun who were chasing a first win in the final since 1931. Corner back Damien McMullan demonstrated his long striking with some telling points from placed balls and when Ally Elliott finally found the Cushendun net in the 55th minute the underdogs' fate was sealed.
In a 10-minutes spell from the 48th minute Dunloy cracked home 1-6 without reply against their opponents who didn't scored from the 45th to the 62nd minute.
