FAI Awards Nominations: Kevin Doyle, Richard Dunne and Shay Given have been short-listed for the FAI senior footballer of the year award for 2007.
The 18th international awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, February 3rd, at the Citywest hotel and will be broadcast live on RTÉ from 8pm.
Stephen Ireland, Shane Long and Aiden McGeady will contest the "young player" category.
Nominations for goal of the year include Doyle's strike in Slovakia, Stephen Ireland's at home to Wales and Robbie Keane's effort at the Millennium Stadium. This will go to a public vote.
The nominations are split into 18 categories, chosen by a panel from the Soccer Writers' Association of Ireland, and include a "hall of fame" award, a "special merit" award and an "international personality" award.
This year also sees the introduction of a "women's under-17 international player of the year" award. The Irish women progressed to the elite qualifying phase of the first Uefa Championship for this age group.
