TRAINER DAVID Wachman and the owners of Duntle, the Niarchos family, have launched an appeal to the Turf Club against the decision to disqualify their star filly from first place in Saturday’s Fusaichi Pegasus Matron Stakes at Leopardstown. Duntle’s jockey, Wayne Lordan, has also appealed a two day suspension for careless riding.

Duntle was demoted to second behind Chachamaidee after passing the post a short head in front of her rival. The stewards decided she caused interference, first to Alanza, who in turn hampered Chachamaidee.

No date has yet been set for the appeal to be heard by the Turf Club’s referrals committee.
