Church Place gave Richard Dunwoody a winner from three rides at the meeting when scoring in the Governors Cup Beginners Chase at Down Royal yesterday.
Trained by Noel Meade, Church Place made almost all the running, and although tackled three fences from home by Ring the Alarm, the six-year-old went on again to win by nine lengths.
Alvine, continued the remarkable course record of trainer Stephen Mahon, who landed a treble at the previous Down Royal meeting, when taking the Sunday Mirror Handicap Hurdle.
The featured Mirror Handicap Chase saw an all-the-way success for the Michael O'Brien-trained Dovaly, who had a comfortable advantage over One of Our Own at the finish.
