Bruce Dyer, Crystal Palace's hat-trick hero against Leicester on Saturday was pleased to receive an away trip for the FA Cup fifth round - despite Arsenal being the opposition. The Eagles have already earned a creditable goalless draw against Arsene Wenger's side this season and Dyer is looking forward to the game.

He said: "It should be a good match. Our home form hasn't been the best this year so we've got to be pleased with an away draw.

"We drew with them earlier this season. And we might have Attilio Lombardo and Michele Padovano back by then."

If Newcastle can come through their replay against Stevenage at St James' Park on Wednesday week, Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush and John Barnes will come faceto-face with another old pal - Tranmere player-manager John Aldridge.

Aldridge would no doubt relish taking his side as sole Merseyside FA Cup representatives to St James' Park for the first time since Kevin Keegan's promotion season 1992-93.

Manchester United have a home date against the winner of the fourth round replay between Barnsley and Tottenham on Wednesday week.

And United boss Alex Ferguson said: "We're delighted to get a home draw but we will respect whichever side comes through the replay."

Harry Redknapp was also happy with a home draw when West Ham were pulled out against Sheffield Wednesday or Blackburn.

"I'm delighted to be at home but it's a tough draw. Blackburn and Wednesday are two hard sides. But you cannot ask for any more than a home game," he said.

After Saturday's Midlands derby with West Bromwich, Aston Villa must play host to another local side Coventry.

Villa brushed aside the Albion challenge 4-0 but the arrival of Dion Dublin, Darren Huckerby and co will provide stiffer opposition.

Leeds must overcome Birmingham to progress in the competition but Trevor Francis' side will take heart from the fact that George Graham's side have lost to First Division opposition in both their last League Cup and FA Cup assaults.

Wimbledon could face London neighbours Charlton if the First Division side defeat fellow highfliers Wolves in a Molineux replay next week.

The final tie pulled from the hat ensures the presence of at least one lower division side in the quarter-finals.

The winners of the Sheffield United v Ipswich replay will play host to the winners of the game between Reading or Third Division Cardiff.
