Early goals set it up for Loughmore

Loughmore... 2-9 Killenaule..

Loughmore ... 2-9 Killenaule ... 0-10 Two goals in four minutes in the early stages sent Loughmore-Castleiney on their way to the Tipperary senior hurling semi-final at Thurles yesterday where they saw off the challenge of Killenaule.

Tommy Ormonde got Loughmore's first goal in the fourth minute from a Seamie Bohan pass and four minutes later Derek Bourke hit a second to put Loughmore 2-2 to 0-3 ahead and firmly in control.

Killenaule never gave up the chase and gave as good as they got subsequently. They reached half-time 0-5 to 2-5 adrift and applied heavy pressure in the second half.

However, the goal they needed eluded them despite great efforts from Richard Maher and Paul Shelly.
