Tipperary 6-21 Antrim 0-10: After only two minutes, Eoin Kelly gave Antrim a taste of things to come as he rifled home a Tipperary goal from a 13-metre free that sent the Munster side on their way to a 29-point victory at Casement Park.

It was all one-way traffic from there and, in the eighth minute, Paddy O'Brien cracked in goal number two. By the 10th minute the visitors were 2-2 to no score ahead.

Antrim were confined to rare attacks that usually broke down before any danger to the visitors' defence occurred. The Antrim defence was constantly under pressure from Kelly, O'Brien and Francis Devenney as the scores mounted with Tipperary freewheeling to a 3-11 to 0-3 half-time lead.

The punishment continued in the second half as Devenney hammered in a fourth goal 45 seconds after the restart. O'Brien scored the fifth after 44 minutes and the sixth was sent home on 53 minutes by Micheál Webster.
