Connacht SFC/ Mayo 3-28; New York 1-8: Mayo's Bronx Tale had a happy and predictable ending as John Maughan's men brushed past a disappointing New York at Gaelic Park yesterday.

"It was a good win under the circumstances," said wing back James Nallen, "we imposed our game very well from an early stage."

The opening goal came four minutes before half-time when Declan Sweeney's long ball unlocked the New York rearguard and Andy Moran set up Mortimer to find the net from close range and Mayo led 1-15 to four points at the break.

And, in the second half, substitutes Michael Moyles and Austin O'Mally reinforced Mayo's dominance, with both players finding the net, while Mortimer notched up a personal tally of 1-12.
