Leinster Special Under-21 HC Final/Laois 4-18 Kildare 0-9: Laois were much too strong for Kildare as they captured the Leinster special under-21 hurling championship title in Leixlip last night.

Colin Delaney had the ball in the net after less than a minute and Damien Bergin followed up with three points before Kildare had registered a score. Laois went on to score five times without reply later in the half and led by 1-12 to 0-5 at the interval.

Sean Lowry pointed for Laois seconds after the restart and a goal quickly followed from Bergin.
