Pat Eddery stole the riding honours at Leicester yesterday with a first and last race double launched by Opening Ceremony who got the best of a thrilling triple photo with Sunray Superstar and Bahrqueen in the Maiden Filly Stakes (Division One).
Opening Ceremony is trained by Amanda Perrett whose husband Mark said: "She's always worked nicely and should be a better filly next year as will Desert Alchemy who finished fourth. Neither will run again this year."
Eddery rounded off his day by bringing Ed Dunlop's Pietro Siena home to a two-and-a-half length defeat of Far Note in the Jim Wragg Maiden Stakes.
Handicap snip Alleluia has been eased to 11 to 4 with a run by the sponsors in the Tote Cesarewitch at Newmarket on Saturday, for which there were 43 entries remaining following yesterday's confirmation stage.
Mark Prescott's improving filly, who had been quoted as short as 2 to 1 with a run by the Tote for the second leg of the autumn double, also holds an engagement in the Group Three Jockey Club Cup earlier on the Champions' Day card and a decision on which race she will run in will be left up to her owners (Sonia Rogers and Kirsten Rausing).
Alleluia won the Group Three Doncaster Cup last time but races off her old mark plus a 7lb penalty in the Cesarewitch.
