Indian Lodge gave Pat Eddery his first Group One victory of the year with a scintillating two-and-a-half-length success in the Prix de la Foret at Longchamp yesterday. The tough Amanda Perrett-trained four-year-old was recording his second French Group One win in only six weeks following his Prix du Moulin triumph, also at Longchamp, last month.
Indian Lodge, a well supported 3.6 to 1 winner, is due to retire to Rathbarry Stud, though part-owner Eric Parker has not ruled out a trip to Churchill Downs first.
Earlier, the Michael Jarvis-trained French Derby winner Holding Court had disappointed again in the Group Two Prix du Conseil de Paris, finishing a tailed-off last of the five runners behind easy winner Crimson Quest (Olivier Peslier).
