Scrumhalf Jean-Baptiste Elissalde has replaced Dimitri Yachvili as captain for France's one-off Test match against Australia in Brisbane on Saturday
.Yachvili led the side in Port Elizabeth last Saturday, when they were beaten 27-13 by South Africa, thereby losing the two-Test series 1-0 after the first Test, in Durban, ended in a 30-30 draw.
The swap was one of eight changes made by French coach Bernard Laporte, who has changed his entire frontrow.
Elissalde will be paired with Frederic Michalak at halfback, while Laporte also shuffled his backline, Julien Laharrague replacing Vincent Clerc and Yannick Jauzion moving to centre to accommodate Benoit Baby.
Baby came on as a second-half replacement for Damien Traille against South Africa, who has been relegated to the bench.
Openside flanker Olivier Magne will start the match after coming on for Yannick Nyanga in Port Elizabeth and will link with Julien Bonnaire and Remy Martin in the backrow of the scrum.
Pascal Pape will reforge his Port Elizabeth second-half partnership with Gregory Lamboley, who replaced Thibault Privat, in the second row.
The entire frontrow of props, Pieter de Villiers and Sylvain Marconnet and hooker William Servat, has been replaced by Denis Avril, Olivier Milloud and Dimitri Swarzewski respectively.
Marconnet is the only survivor from the trio in the 22-man squad and will start from the bench.
