Galwegians clinched their second AIB League win thanks to a splendid team performance and the class of Eric Elwood at Clifford Park on Saturday.
Very few teams come from 13-0 down at half time at this particular venue but the spirit and self-belief with which coach John Kingston has imbued this Galwegians side certainly worked wonders on this occasion.
Young Munster were in control early on. Outhalf Michael Lynch kicked a couple of penalties and the Galwegians' line bore a charmed life until, just on half time, promising second row Paul O'Connell broke from a maul and scored between the posts for a try that Lynch converted.
Galwegians began the second half with centre Tim Allnut in the sin bin but reduced the arrears almost immediately with an Elwood penalty. Further strong pressure was rewarded when prop Peter Bracken forced his way over for a try in the corner.
Elwood failed to convert but Galwegians maintained the momentum. They were stopped short of the Young Munster line twice before wily scrumhalf Bryan Shelbourne sent Elwood over at the posts. Elwood converted to win the day.
