Fair Play Rankings: England and Turkey were excluded from the Euro 2000 fair play ranking on Friday because of the bad behaviour of their supporters. France top the ranking, which takes into account yellow and red cards for players on the pitch, as well as crowd behaviour off it.

Yugoslavia: UEFA fined the Yugoslav soccer federation 120,000 Swiss francs yesterday after ugly incidents at Wednesday's group C clash with Spain. A disciplinary board's findings underlined the bad conduct of the Yugoslav supporters, the dangerous throwing of objects and the potential danger of the pitch invasions. "The findings also stressed the bad conduct of the Yugoslav players (who have had three players dismissed in as many matches)," the statement added.

Turkey: Turkey's players will share $3 million if they beat Portugal, the country's sports minister said yesterday. "It has been agreed to give the national players a total of $3 million if they reach the semi-finals as an incentive," Anatolian news agency quoted sports minister Fikret Unlu as saying.

Football Violence: The first English fan to be found guilty of violence at Euro 2000 has been sentenced to a year in prison for assaulting police officers. Six months of the sentence were suspended. His lawyers have already said they will appeal the decision, arguing their client was not even at the scene.
