Leinster
Leinster are expected to name the same team that lost to Edinburgh Reivers for Friday night's Heineken European Cup match against Biarritz at Donnybrook. Outhalf Eddie Hekenui and wing Denis Hickie have recovered from the injuries sustained in the Edinburgh game. The Leinster team will be named today.
Munster
Munster confirmed that both John Hayes (shoulder injury) and Peter Clohessy (viral infection) will be available for selection when the team to play Castres in France on Saturday is announced today.
Ulster
Ulster's only injury doubt ahead of their game against Saracens at Vicarage Road on Sunday is flanker Russell Nelson. He is suffering from a calf problem - Derek Topping is set to deputise. Coach Harry Williams will confirm his team today.
Connacht
Connacht are set to welcome back flanker Ian Dillon following injury for their game against Neath at The Gnoll in the European Shield on Saturday. Wing Nigel Carolan is doubtful with a neck injury while Shane Stephens is unavailable for a second match.
Under-21
The Ireland under-21s will play two matches on a short trip to France next month. A 40-strong squad will travel to the Paris suburb of Joinville le Point on Wednesday, November 1st and will play two matches on the Friday.
The New Zealand under-21s visit Ireland in November and will play four matches. Their first game is against Ulster on November 15th, followed by a Test match against Ireland (November 18th, likely to be at Dr Hickey Park), Leinster (November 22nd) and Munster on November 25th.
The IRFU confirmed that they have sought an invitation to next year's Sanzar under-21 series in Australia. The tournament takes place in late June and early July and they are awaiting a reply from the Australian Rugby Union.
Senior Tour
A decision on the proposed Irish senior tour of New Zealand next summer will be taken at an IRFU meeting tonight, although no announcement will be made until Tuesday week.
All-Ireland League
The AIB All-Ireland League Divisions Two and Three begin this Saturday. The bonus point system (a bonus point for scoring four tries or a bonus point for losing by less than seven) has been retained.
