With the Rugby World Cup done and dusted for another four years and while England bask in their glory of winning the William Webb Ellis trophy, the International Rugby Board (IRB) and Australian Rugby Union (ARU) have been delighting in the most commercially successful rugby tournament held to date.

Audiences, profits and ticket-sales have all reached record levels so, while the on-pitch heroics are celebrated and remembered, the following is a run-down of the only facts and figures from the 2003 Rugby World Cup that

The ARU's decision to go it alone has show them to have taken the right commercial decision. The deal signed with the IRB sees the ARU getting the first Aus$30 million profit with profits after that split 70:30 in favour of the IRB.
