On Seanie McGrath. . . "He is set up for some duel with Willie O'Connor but I can't see him standing shoulder to shoulder with him. If he stays close to O'Connor then he's not going to win much but out field he may have the advantage. What has also impressed me is his ability to drift into centre field towards the end of the game, where he picks up ball and sends it in towards Joe Deane. He is one of the big playmakers in this Cork team."
On Willie O'Connor. . . "Still one of the most effective corner backs around in the way he sweeps behind the half back line and provides a great range of coverage. He will also have superior experience in this area but he'll have to be ready for the speed of movement that McGrath will show. It will be a tough job to mark McGrath, especially if he spends a lot of time out the field."
