A field of 14 now looks likely for Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after Sea Wave, Leggera and Limpid were all supplemented for the race yesterday.

Speculation that Andre Fabre's Public Purse would also be supplemented proved wide of the mark, whilst Godolphin's recent Man O'War Stakes winner Daylami was taken out as expected.

But Fabre will still have three runners in the Longchamp showpiece following confirmation that Fragrant Mix runs. The Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud winner will line up alongside Sagamix and Limpid.

The news was confirmed by Roland de Longevialle, the racing manager of Jean-Luc Lagardere.

Peter Schiergen has high hopes for his German raider Tiger Hill, currently priced at around 14 to 1.

It is 23 years since Germany won Longchamp's greatest prize when Greville Starkey galvanised unconsidered 119 to 1 outsider Star Appeal into a late rush to land the spoils back in 1975.

Cologne-based Schiergen, formerly five times German champion jockey, declared: "Let us be honest, only good horses run in the Arc and so I must not be over optimistic.

"However, I will be a little disappointed if Tiger Hill does not finish in the first five.

"He is a very powerful horse and he is completely uncomplicated. He can run from the front or be positioned in the middle of the field."

Leggera was yesterday well supported for the Arc with Coral, who laid one individual credit bet of £1,000 to win £25,000.
