Connacht Junior Cup/Marist College 10 Garbally College 6:An intercept try from number eight Brendan Fagan after just six minutes proved the decisive score as Marist College, Athlone, captured the Connacht Schools' Junior Cup for the fourth time at the Sportsground yesterday.

It was the only try of the game as Garbally surrendered their title. Marist led 10-3 at the break, outhalf Jack Carty adding a 27th-minute penalty after converting Fagan's try.

Garbally scrumhalf Coleman Maher kicked a fourth-minute penalty and landed another midway through the second half.
