The Tower Hotel group has expanded its golfing interests by opening the Faithlegg House Hotel on the grounds of the Faithlegg course, six miles from Waterford City. The hotel is a renovated 18th century listed mansion, formerly occupied by the De La Salle order.

The company has also acquired a 50 per cent share of the course itself and will provide its popular `Tee Time in Ireland' packages at the venue. These combine accomodation with guaranteed tee times and are already in operation at 14 courses around the country, including Mount Juliet, Rosses Point, Ballybunion and Killarney.

Former Ballybunion professional Ted Higgins will continue as golf manager at Faithlegg.
