Ed Dunlop celebrated his 30th birthday by sending out a 14 to 1 double at Yarmouth yesterday to push the trainer through the £400,000 prize-money barrier for the year.

Both Fancy My Chance (4 to 1) and Monsajem (2 to 1) were partnered by Kieren Fallon, the champion jockey reaching 190 for the year. Fallon produced Monsajem to lead in the final furlong of the Thrigby Handicap and pushed him out to beat Fahs, the winner of the race 12 months ago, by one and three quarter lengths.

Fallon had initiated the double for Dunlop's Newmarket stable on Fancy My Chance, who was breaking his duck at the fifth attempt in the Billockby Nursery, beating Salford Flyer by three-and-a-half lengths.

Frankie Dettori completed a near 7 to 1 double in Sheikh Mohammed's colours on John Gosden's Georgette (3 to 1) and David Loder's Asood (10 to 11).

Asood took a walk in the market before the Wickhampton Novice Stakes but the newcomer enjoyed little more than a stroll in the race itself. The two-year-old could not be given away in the ring, having touched even money from an opening 4 to 9.

But there was little argument that Asood, who made all the running. would be Loder's 23rd individual two-year-old of the year and 31st in all. The son of Machiavellian breezed home by one-and-a-quarter lengths from National Anthem with three lengths back to the third Tyler's Toast.

Asood will not run again this season and with Loder operating with solely two-year-olds and lead horses from his base in France next year, the colt could head to Dubai.

Georgette, a narrow winner at Newmarket on her second start, followed up in more leisurely fashion in the Mautby Condition Stakes - Gosden's runner heading Emma Peel at the furlong pole before scoring by two lengths.
