James Fanshawe is set to be double-handed in next Thursday's Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, he revealed yesterday.

Arctic Owl will bid to follow up his victory at Sandown last month. And he will be joined by stable-companion Invermark, third under top-weight in the Chester Cup.

"I'm looking forward to Thursday!" the trainer said.

"Richard Hughes will ride Invermark, who ran very well at Chester. And Ray Cochrane will ride Arctic Owl, though if the going were firm we might think again about running him."

The trainer's other Royal Ascot hopes include Warningford in the Queen Anne Stakes - provided there is sufficient give in the ground - and Persiano and Family Man in the Royal Hunt Cup.

Stable-companion Entwine, third in both outings to date this term, will bypass Sandown on Saturday to take up her entry in the William Hill Trophy at York, for which she is quoted at 2 to 1 by the sponsors.
