Out-half Emmet Farrell was once again Blackrock's man of the match as he landed three penalties and three conversions in his side's 3511 win over Malone at Gibson Park. David Johnson (2), Bob Casey and Michael Jackson (who came on as a substitute for David Quinlan) scored a try each in the Dubliners' second win of their campaign.

Blackrock led 13-6 at half time with out-half Neil Doak kicking two penalties for the home side. Stuart Duncan then added a try for Malone's final score of the game.

At Lansdowne Road, Wanderers succumbed to Harlequins in a tight match in which two second-half tries from the visitors earned their 20-19 win. Harlequins took a 7-0 lead when fullback Colin Christy went over for a try which Niall Malone converted before Kevin Nowlan landed three penalties for Wanderers. Subsequently, Andy Matchett and Andy Park turned the game with a try each. Although Wanderers hit back with a Quentin O'Neill try and further kicks from Nowlan, the visitors prevailed.

Old Crescent and Galwegians involved themselves in a kicking game at Rosbrien in which Eric Elwood unsurprisingly came out on top. Billy Treacy sent over three penalties in reply to the Irish out-half's five.
