KERRY SFC:THE THREE fancied sides Dr Crokes, champions South Kerry and Austin Stacks advanced to the semi-finals, but all three games proved disappointing.

On Saturday night Dr Crokes, despite Colm Cooper not registering a score, proved far too strong for a Páidí Ó Sé-managed West Kerry on a 1-8 to 0-5 scoreline. Cooper, who was marked by Marc Ó Sé, saw little of the ball in the opening half but did come out the field in the second and created a number of scores with superb distribution.

Darragh Ó Sé gave an exhibition at midfield but the West Kerry forward line lacked firepower and only managed a single point in the second period.

South Kerry flexed their muscle’s with a power-packed opening half when they stormed 1-11 to 0-1 clear of a poor Kilcummin side.

Aidan Dash O’Sullivan struck for a goal inside 20 seconds, after a Bryan Sheehan shot came back off the post. Indeed Sheehan proceeded to kick four points from play, and with Niall O’Shea kicking four and Ronan Hussey three, the South Kerry full-forward line was unstoppable.

Austin Stacks, inspired by Kerry star Kieran Donaghy, proved too strong for Rathmore, and they eased to a 1-13 to 0-5 victory.
