Carlow SFC Final/Fenagh 0-9 Rathvilly 0-9: Fenagh and Rathvilly played out a thrilling draw before a 4,000 crowd at Dr Cullen Park, Carlow, yesterday in the Carlow senior football final. Fenagh, making their first appearance in a senior football championship final, will rue shooting 15 wides, some from very good positions.
Rathvilly led by 0-6 to 0-2 at half-time, with corner forward David Nolan accounting for five of their points, four of them from play.
Fenagh came out for the second half with all guns blazing and rattled over four points to equalise by the 42nd minute.
Rathvilly regained the lead through an excellent Francis Kelly point before Paul Maher again equalised.
Two JJ Smith points from play put Rathvilly in front and in sight of a seventh title. But Fenagh finished with a pointed free from Patrick Nolan and an injury-time equaliser from Maher.
