Alex Ferguson has dismissed Manchester United's chances of winning the Treble again this season. The odds on United repeating their historic success of 1999 are dropping following their scorching start to the season.
They have raced to the top of the Premiership after banging in nine goals in their last two league games. They signalled their intent in Europe when they opened their Champions League campaign with an emphatic 5-1 drubbing of Anderlecht in midweek.
United are also in the FA Cup this season after they controversially withdrew last year to compete in the Club World Championship. However Ferguson was dampened any talk that United could rewrite the record books yet again. "No, I don't think it's possible," he said. "It's something that happens and everything has to go in your favour. We got that two seasons ago when we had no injuries."
