TWO McKENNA Cup games scheduled to be played on Saturday were instead completed yesterday due to weather conditions.
Hugh Brady’s late point earned Fermanagh a 0-14 to 1-11 draw against UUJ on a game played on Kingspan Breffni Park’s new 3G pitch. Mattie Donnelly’s goal helped the students lead 1-8 to 0-7 at the interval. Fermanagh responded to level midway through the second half before UUJ edged ahead again.
But Brady’s late point ensured a share of the spoils in new manager John O’Neill’s first game as Fermanagh boss.
And, at Páirc Esler, Down beat St Mary’s, 2-13 to 0-6. John Clarke scored goals in both halves for last year’s All-Ireland runners-up.
