FEYENOORD'S hopes of winning a place in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup could hinge on how well they shackle Rapid Vienna striker Carsten Jancker tonight. Jancker hit the equaliser in the semi final, first leg and was on target twice in the second leg of the quarter final against Dynamo Moscow.
Rapid coach Ernst Dokupil believes his team have more options open to them after securing a 1-1 draw in the away leg. "Feyenoord have to score to go through to the final," said Dokupil. "They have little choice in choosing their tactics. They have to attack."
Feyenoord will be missing two key players defender Henk Fraser and midfielder Orlando Trustfull. Rapid will again be without midfielder Brvoslav Jovanovic, sent off for an off the ball clash in the quarter final.
Paris St Germain's desire to be recognised as one of Europe's great clubs faces a critical test in their semi final return against Deportivo Coruna of Spain. In the fourth successive year that PSG have reached a European semi final, the 1-0 victory in Spain in the first leg has given them their best chance yet of making it to the final.
On the face of it, things look good for PSG. Youri Djorkaeff is back in great form after injury, while Brazil's Rai, striker Patrice Loko and midfielder Daniel Bravo have all been pronounced fit.
Deportivo's manager John Toshack has problems with injuries and suspensions. Brazilian midfielder Mauro Silva, playmaker Fran Gonzalez, and defenders Nando Martinez and Miroslav Djukic have all dropped out of the squad.
