For an older horse two-mile maiden, today's Roscrea Maiden at Clonmel is a hot little race, and the top class bumper performer To Your Honour is taken to win it.
The five-year-old, trained by Francis Flood, will have to be at his best, however, with the likes of Flagship Uberalles and Fishin Joella in opposition.
Flagship Uberalles ran a stormer behind Zafarabad at the Punchestown festival, while Fishin Joella is a high class handicap hurdler at her best. It's surprising that both have to try and break their flat racing duck in a good race like this and, while their chances cannot be discounted, it could mean a decent price for To Your Honour.
A worry with John Murtagh's mount would be drying ground but To Your Honour ran well enough on a decent surface at Cheltenham and then emphasised his versatility with a third to King's Road in the big Punchestown bumper.
Murtagh is riding brilliantly at the moment and the Flood stable are also sparking. It's also significant that To Your Honour hasn't been put away for the summer, and the hint can pay off for punters.
It could be a very good day for the Flood camp as Ciara's Prince has his chance in the Purcell Handicap Chase but a safer bet could be Micko's Dream in the Cahir Hurdle.
This horse has filled the runner-up spot in his last two races, behind the smart Siberian Gale at Fairyhouse on Saturday and behind As Royal at Punchestown. They were smart efforts, however, and this course winner is taken to account for Limestone Lad.
Wild Zing was expected to run a lot better than he did when only sixth to Spirit Dancer at Killarney on Tuesday night and is worth another chance in the opening handicap, while Commanche Native is hard to get away from in the bumper.
Michael Kinane is to renew his association with top German filly Que Belle in the Group Two Prix Jean de Chaudenay (12f) at Saint-Cloud tomorrow.
