Longford ... 4-6 Leitrim ... 1-6: Longford failed to impress when overcoming a poor Leitrim side in the second of the double bill All-Ireland minor football quarter finals at Roscommon's Hyde Park on Saturday evening.
The huge Longford following in the crowd of about 8,000 watched their side fire home two goals inside the opening two minutes to take a firm grip on the game.
Midfielder, Tony Murphy had the ball in the net after only 20 seconds, and full forward Declan Farrell fisted the second 90 seconds later from a Michael Hussey free.
However, from there on the newly crowned Leinster champions shot a total of 15 wides against a Leitrim side whose forward line failed to score from play until Philip McGuinness goaled seven minutes from time after he regained possession when his penalty kick came back off the post.
