Ballygunner won their ninth Waterford senior hurling title with a five-point win over Lismore in yesterday's final at Walsh Park.

Lismore led by 0-8 to 0-3 after 15 minutes. But in the next 10 minutes Ballygunner closed the gap to two points and then a Billy O'Sullivan goal put them ahead, 1-8 to 0-10. Seβn Daly replied for Lismore and Andy Moloney restored the lead for the winners to leave it 2-8 to 1-10 at the interval.

Lismore led 1-16 to 2-10 early in the second half. However, after Darragh O'Sullivan had struck for the equalising goal, substitute Paul Flynn followed up with a pointed free to put Ballygunner ahead.Flynn had the final say, rattling the net three minutes from time.
