Leinster Schools Senior Cup:St Mary's College 28 Skerries CC 3 ST MARY'S hopes of winning a sixth Senior Cup title are still alive, after their win over Skerries CC in Ashbourne yesterday.
Tries from Mark Fallon, Gary Blackburn and a double from the impressive Neal Flynn secured an easy victory. Simon O'Donnell's excellent kicking secured a further six points from conversions, with Eoin Moriarty deputising as kicker for his side's last two points.
Skerries took the lead in the opening three minutes with a penalty from Harry Dawson but, despite having more possession in the opening minutes, that was as good as it got for them.
Flynn scored the try of the game in the 24th minute. He ran from well inside his own half, past a number of helpless Skerries players to score right between the posts and put his side 5-3 ahead. O'Donnell easily scored the conversion.
Following Fallon's try in 38th minute, O'Donnell produced his best kick of the game, converting from the sideline.
Flynn scored again in the 52nd minute after a good interception in the corner, while Blackburn confirmed the emphatic win with a try in the 71st minute.
