DANOLI should draw the crowds at Naas today when the country's favourite racehorse makes his second appearance over fences in the Quinns of Naas Novice Chase. Should all go well, there is no telling how far Danoli will go this season, and one can expect one or two riveting clashes with his old rival and fellow novice chaser Dorans Pride.
Reappearing for the first time since Aintree in March, Danoli recorded an easy success on his chasing debut at Clonmel a few weeks ago, and that form was franked when Dun Belle, 20 lengths adrift, won over the same track on Thursday. Defeat today cannot be contemplated.
Trainer Tom Foley has prospects of a double with Sheisagale in the Philip McCartan Memorial Flat Race. The selection was well backed before finishing second behind The Gray Mare at Leopardstown and may now beat the facile Tipperary winner Rocher Lady.
Persian Halo, formerly trained by Michael Kauntze and now with Noel Meade, is taken to give the weight to the penalised Punchestown winner Quantro in the Paddy Cox Handicap Chase.
Meade may also win the Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle with the well-bred Alasad.
Valmar, a five-length winner of a handicap hurdle at Listowel, is on a handy mark in the Kilwarden Handicap Hurdle.
