Carlow SHC Final: Naomh Eoin 2-15 Mount Leinster 0-17 Naomh Eoin of Myshall captured their 17th Carlow senior hurling title when overcoming Mount Leinster Rangers from Borris at Dr Cullen Park yesterday.
Having conceded a third-minute goal to Naomh Eoin's John Quirke, Rangers played some splendid hurling to score 10 points in the opening half.
Rangers led by a slender 0-10 to 1-6 at the half-time break and as the sides were deadlocked on seven occasions during the second half, a draw looked a likely outcome.
With the scores tied at 0-16 to 1-13, Naomh Eoin benefited from the moving of Robert Foley to full forwardin the final quarter of the game.
During his time on the edge of the square, Foley scored 1-4 from play to turn this final his side's way.
