DERRYMOYLE, the winner of seven hurdles braces ford Michael Cunning ham makes his early awaited debut over fences in the EBF Beginners Chase at Punchestown this afternoon and should be worth following for the reminder of the season.

He did not quite see out three miles at the highest level, but over today's distance of 21 furlongs he had few equals. A clear round should see Derrymoyle open with a win and with the necessary luck, he could develop into a top class chaser.

Mark Dwyer, who partners Derrymoyle, is also on board Johnny Setaside in the Dunstown Wood Chase. A major disappointment in the Sun Alliance Chase, where the ground was too fast for him, Johnny Setaside had previously turned in a spectacular performance for a novice when trouncing Lord Singapore, to whom he was conceding 11lb, over 3 1/4 miles in testing ground here in February.

Before that, at Fairyhouse, he had beaten Minella Man over today's distance and while the ground may be on the fast side lob him today, his class should see him through and he is another worth following in the coming months.
