Football double bill to open live TV schedule

RTÉ'S schedule of live broadcasts for the summer has been finalised with the GAA

RTÉ'S schedule of live broadcasts for the summer has been finalised with the GAA. This is the second year of the championship qualifiers in both football and hurling and a bumper programme of 38 matches over 27 days will be televised.

It starts in four weeks with a double bill featuring Munster champions Cork against NFL Division Two A winners Limerick, plus All-Ireland champions Armagh's first defence of their Ulster title against Monaghan.

The matches will continue up to the All-Ireland football final on September 28th.

That Limerick-Cork match has been brought forward by a fortnight to accommodate Limerick, who expect to have a number of dual players this season.

Because of Munster's date with Leicester in the European Cup quarter-finals on Sunday, Limerick have brought forward their NHL game against Waterford on the same day to 1.30, at Kilmallock.
