Sendawar's hopes of tackling the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot on Saturday were boosted yesterday by unexpectedly dry weather at the track until early afternoon.

The forecast showers had not materialised leaving clerk of the course Nick Cheyne to issue a bulletin favourable for connections of the French-trained horse.

Trainer Alain Royer-Dupre withdrew Sendawar from his last intended race, the Prix Jacques le Marois, when the ground became too heavy.

If the £320,000 QE II is to justify its billing as the European mile championship decider, then Sendawar must run.
