Ann Gibney is having a great golfing year at Elm Park. Three weeks ago she was the winner of Aidan Fitzgerald's prize for women with 40 points and recently she followed up by winning the Lady Captain's (Helen Rafter) prize with a superb 62 nett off 17 handicap. Marguerite Maher, playing off 23, took the runners-up spot on 67.

Committee member Nano Brennan won the best gross at the end of a two-day marathon. The previous day Brennan had played 36 holes in the qualifying round of the Irish Close championship at The European Club and followed with another 18 holes before making the dash to Elm Park for the Lady Captain's prize.
