Munster Club FC Quarter-final/Aherlow 1-7 Fr Casey's 0-6: Barry Grogan brightened up a low-key Munster quarter-final tie with a personal tally of 1-5 to give unfancied Aherlow victory over a disappointing Fr Casey's at Abbeyfeale yesterday.
The Limerick side might have fancied their prospects when Martin Scannell levelled at 0-3 each immediately on the change of ends, but the wily Grogan ended their dream when he outjumped Séamus Lenihan and fired past Pat Curtin for the game's only goal on 37 minutes.
Within seconds he tapped over a point and, with a deficit of four, Fr Casey's knew their fate was sealed. And Grogan rattled over three more in quick succession to give the Tipperary champions a provincial semi-final date.
