News: Former France rugby captain and coach Jacques Fouroux, one of the leading figures of the game for nearly two decades, has died.
Fouroux, who died from a heart attack at his home in southwestern Auch on Saturday aged 58, never left the headlines from his first cap against Ireland in 1972 until his resignation as France coach after an embarrassing defeat by Romania in 1990.
Admired for his qualities as a leader and his passion for the game, Fouroux won 27 caps for France from 1972 to 1977, scoring five tries and coached France from 1981 to 1990.
