TRANSFER NEWS: HARRY REDKNAPP expects to find out this week whether Portsmouth have been successful in their pursuit of Richard Dunne.

The Manchester City captain's contract expires at the end of next season and Portsmouth are believed to be leading a host of Premier League clubs looking to sign the central defender.

The 28-year-old is considering his options following the recent appointment of Mark Hughes as City manager, but Redknapp is still hopeful of bringing him to Fratton Park.

"Richard Dunne is a player I like," Redknapp said. "I would love to bring him here.

"It does seem to be dragging on a bit at the moment, but hopefully we can meet with him again and see what we can do.

"We should know where we're going with it in the next couple of days. If we were to get him it would be great."

Meanwhile, Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb has revealed he is "angered" by reports linking him with a move to Bayern Munich.

Munich's Tz newspaper on Monday claimed Hleb was in talks with Bayern over a return to the Bundesliga, where he previously played for Stuttgart.

Hleb has denied the report, and requested the media cool their interest in his future, with speculation still linking the 27-year-old with a move to Barcelona this summer.

"These reports anger me," he said. "I have not signed for Bayern, Barcelona or any other club for that matter."

Meanwhile, Dundee United have warned it will take more than €500,000 to prise striker Noel Hunt away from Tannadice. Reading, who were relegated from the Premier League last month, are the latest club to be credited with an interest in the Republic of Ireland B international.

Hunt (25) believed he had been the subject of a bid from Reading, where his brother Stephen has been a key fixture in Steve Coppell's team, and admitted he would consider a move to the Madejski Stadium an appealing prospect.
