Dublin IT - 1-16 UU Coleraine - 2-12SIGERSON CUP/First Round:A Damian Freeman point with only seconds remaining gave DIT a dramatic victory over UUC in an exciting Sigerson Cup first round match at Coláiste Mhuire yesterday.

DIT trailed for long periods of the game and only took the lead with five minutes to go when Shane McKiegue blasted to the net to make the score 1-14 to 2-9.

Full-forward McKiegue and another Meathman, left half-forward Stephen Bray were particularly lively for DIT all afternoon, although Coleraine's Eoin Bradley ran them close for man of the match.

DIT's victory earns them a tie away to UCD in the next round, but after shooting eight wides yesterday they will need to improve their finishing if they are to have a chance against the Belfield men.
