Praise has been heaped upon Irish football fans once again as the French sports daily newspaper L’Équipe dedicated a two page spread to them in Wednesday’s paper.

L’Équipe praised both Republic of Ireland ad Northern Ireland supporters, highlighting their good behaviour in France during the tournament.

The article reads "for atmosphere, Ireland is unified" under a photo of Northern Ireland fans celebrating their qualification to the last 16 of the tournament.

“Supporters of the Republic and Northern Ireland are disputing the title of public affection at Euro 2016 with their good humour,” the paper said.
