Scotland manager Craig Brown has warned the world champions France against taking his makeshift side too lightly in tonight's friendly at Hampden Park. Despite the Scots being badly depleted he refuses to accept it may prove a one-sided affair.
After Jackie McNamara became the latest to withdraw from the squad because of injury, Brown has been left short of numbers against the talented World Cup holders.
Celtic wing-back McNamara's hamstring problem means a call-up for Coventry's Paul Telfer, while another uncapped player, Hearts defender Steven Pressley, comes in for Matt Elliott.
A sold-out Millennium Stadium in Cardiff will be the fitting stage for the end of the strife of Ryan Giggs as the Manchester United player makes only his 12th international appearance in his home city. Giggs is no doubt welcomed into Mark Hughes' squad to face Finland because the rest of the players know that he can drag them along in his wake to international competitiveness.
Dean Saunders cannot wait to be in the same side as Giggs. "If I'm selected and play there's every chance that Ryan will create me a goal," he said.
