Heinz-Harald Frentzen was left unconscious after a collision with Michael Schumacher's Ferrari during testing for the French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours yesterday.

Frentzen was lifted out of his badly damaged Williams and rushed to a hospital in Nevers, where he later regained consciousness.

Track officials reported that apart from being shaken, the German was otherwise unharmed.

Schumacher also escaped without injury from the accident that took place at a tight bend at the start of the afternoon practice session.
