There has been precious little evidence of any animosity towards the Europeans in the build-up days, and even one potential flashpoint involving European rookie Jarmo Sandelin and Mark O'Meara has been settled amicably. Or so it seems.
Two years ago, Sandelin rechristened the American "Mark O'Nearer" after an infamous incident late in the final round of the Lancome Trophy. Sandelin was on record as saying that O'Meara should have given back the trophy he won (Sandelin was runner-up) when a taped broadcast showed that O'Meara mismarked his ball. The two players were subsequently involved in a heated argument at another European Tour event after the incident came to light which ended with O'Meara walking away from the volatile Swede.
However, the pair talked and shook hands at the Celine Dion concert on Wednesday night and O'Meara remarked: "There is no issue between us."
