Golf:While there remains some doubt over Tiger Woods' participation in the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am at Adare Manor Golf Resort in Co Limerick next July, the event was boosted today with the news that three more stars have signed up for the event.
Jim Furyk, Ernie Els and Robert Allenby have all signed up to join the likes of Padraig Harrington, Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood in the stellar field.
Woods decision to take an ‘indefinite’ break from the game has thrown his involvement into question, despite a previous commitment to play in the charity tournament.
Should the world number one play, it means six of the current top ten in the world rankings will be in action at the Co Limerick venue.
“We are delighted that players of such high calibre who have shown their magnificent skills all around the world have agreed to give up their time to play in the Pro-Am,” McManus said today.
McManus has raised over €55 million for charities in the Limerick area since the tournament’s inception in 1990.
Spectators can choose from one of any two-day entrance caps – representing Ireland, Munster Rugby and each of the Munster counties – which are currently on sale at a cost of 50 on www.jpmcmanusproam.com or at selected retail outlets.
